Why should our school offer Slushiez?

It is a struggle for many school child nutrition programs and administrators to offer beverage options that are healthy and that the students are also excited about. The Juice Alive 100% juice frozen drink program fills this void by offering products which meet the Alliance School Beverage Guidelines, we renew our commitment to offering healthy options for schools across the country.

Are Slushiez a healthy option for students?

Yes. Juice Alive 100% fruit juice satisfies the Alliance for a Healthier Generation (founded by the American Heart Association) guidelines for healthy beverages. The 100% juice is compliant with Federal, State, and District nutrition standards and fortified with Vitamins A, C, and D. It contains no added sugar, high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, gluten, fat, or cholesterol. From a nutrition perspective, the beverage is no different from liquid 100% orange juice, apple juice, or other fruit juices.

What is the Juice Alive product sold by Slushiez?

The product is produced by Trident Beverage, which was created in 2004 to meet the growing nutritional demands of child nutrition programs. The company provides product to thousands of schools, day cares, restaurants, and other food venues throughout the United States either directly or through affiliate distributors. Slushiez is the affiliated distributor for Utah.

What makes Slushiez taste so good without added sugar/artificial sweeteners?

The juice blend consists of pineapple and white grape juice, which are naturally sweet, rather than added sugar or artificial sweeteners. The 100% frozen fruit juice is also dairy-free, gluten-free, fat-free, and cholesterol-free.

How do you make Slushiez?

Slushiez comes in 1⁄2 gallon bottles of concentrate. Mix one 1⁄2 gallon bottle of concentrate with five 1⁄2 gallon bottles of water. Finally, pour the mix into the slushy machine, turn on the power and mixing auger and set the machine to freeze. It will be ready to enjoy in approximately one hour.

How difficult is it to set up and maintain the slushy machine?

Machine setup is very simple, we will set it up when we deliver the machine and teach you how to clean and maintain it. The slushy machine only requires a standard electrical wall outlet/plug and does NOT require a water line.

Where do most schools sell Slushiez?

Most schools sell slushiez either in their cafeteria as an a-la-carte item or in the school store.

We keep running out of product before each student has a chance to purchase one. How can we prevent this?
Make a batch of frozen product first thing in the morning in the machine. Drain that batch of frozen product into the mixing containers and set aside in the walk in cooler/freezer. You can do this several times before your meal period begins if you start early. The product will stay frozen in the walk in cooler long enough to replenish during the upcoming meal period. When the machine is running low, replenish it from the mixing containers you have in the cooler/freezer.
